Our Story
Whitedown Equine believe in the "old world" values of traditional veterinary care combined with modern advances in medicine and equipment.
The vision for Whitedown Equine was born many years ago, when Dr George Worden wanted to continue to provide customised and tailored care for your horse and their circumstances. Believing in his convictions, and after a lot of hard work and determination, Whitedown Equine was born.
The ethos is simple; pragmatic, personalised, and portable service for you and your horse. Whitedown Equine can provide the combination of experience and flexibility you need, no matter the goal.

Dr George Worden

George's veterinary career became apparent early in his childhood where he was often found in his bedroom reciting the animal encyclopaedia cover-to-cover and could name every mammal found in Europe by the age of 10. A love of horses was introduced by his mother who had (and continues to have!) a string of happy hackers throughout his life, cemented by living in the New Forest. Having graduated from the University of Nottingham School of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery in 2017, George went on to complete a rigorous internship at Oakham Equine Hospital before heading to the three counties to start life as an 'adult' vet. Advancing slowly but surely through the South-East, George joined Bell Equine, followed by Cliffe Equine, before settling in deepest, darkest East Sussex and establishing Whitedown Equine. Outside of vetting (if there is such a thing), George enjoys an abundant family life with his partner Rhianna, alongside their two dogs and three horses, nestled in their Brightling oasis.
George has completed a number of postgraduate qualifications, including becoming an Advanced Practitioner in Equine Medicine and OV certified (Equine Export, Germinal Products Export).
Kassie Hill

Known and respected by so many across the local community, Kassie is not only a fantastic Nurse and genuine friend, but also a valued colleague and Director alongside George and Rhianna.
Bringing with her a wealth of knowledge, passion, and unwavering commitment, Kassie shares our values and vision for delivering the very best for our horses and clients. Along with contributing to writing for a number of textbooks, she also supports the wider equine nursing community by contributing to organising national veterinary conferences, as well as having a specific focus on bandaging and wound management. Her experience and enthusiasm make her an incredible addition to the business, and we couldn't be happier to have her on this journey with us.
Rhianna Petrie
Last but certainly not least, we'd like to introduce Rhi, who keeps Whitedown Equine running, as Director & Practice Manager.
Best known for her love of coloured cobs (one in particular!), fluffy Shetlands and big hedges, Rhianna is our guiding light in the office.
With second-to-none organisational skills, unwavering efficiency, and exceptionally high standards, we couldn't have got to where we are without her. Her passion for horses and for our clients alike will continue to play a huge role in shaping our practice over the coming years.

Cardiology - Full heart assessments

Our routine area covered is an approximate 45-minute radius based in Brightling, but can discuss suitability for your yard further on the phone.
